Almost four months after her disappearance, Haymarket teen Delaney Kayden's body was finally found yesterday at the Carvel ranch owned by Robert Mize, also deceased, a disgraced former surgeon originally from Chicago. Mize had inherited the ranch from his mother, Berta Mize, after her passing in 1966. Mize had worked some odd jobs in the area and mostly kept to himself according to a neighbor. After months of not paying the utilities bill, the City came out to shut off power and noticed an unusual, foul smell and alerted the authorities.

Police Chief Everett Simms held a press conference at 7pm yesterday, January 31st. He was visibly shaken by what he and his men found inside the Mize home. He stated: "This is an ongoing investigation, and we will release more information when we have more clarity on the situation. I can say that we did find the bodies of Mr. Mize and Ms. Kayden, both deceased. The latter had been noted as missing since October 4th of last year." Chief Simms answered all questions from reporters with "no comment at this time." When asked about possible other victims in addition to Kayden, there was a notable pause from Chief Simms. When asked to explain what had happened to Kayden in more detail, he went white before finally answering "no comment."
Other police officers on the scene also remained tight lipped under Chief Simms direction, but also shared the same distressed look. As of this morning, the town's mortician, Charlie Sandbridge was also silent, but may have not gotten that instruction yesterday, as he had already admitted that Kayden's cause of death was self inflicted, and it was she who had also taken the life of Mr. Mize. The Times is actively pursuing any further leads and will report back when more clarification is reached. There are many rumors swirling around the area that inhumane experiments were performed on Kayden, and that she was horribly mutilated and/or disfigured. As this moment, the Times cannot confirm and will say that these are in fact, merely rumors.
